jonathan nicklow

Jonathan Nicklow received his BFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design and his MFA in Printmaking at the University of Colorado, Boulder.  His art has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in many collections around the world, including Argentina, Australia, Ireland, Germany, and the Smithsonian Institute.  He currently teaches at Metro State University.  Jonathan and his wife, Valerie have lived in Evergreen, CO for over twenty years, along with their two cats and dog, Luna.

His work considers society’s developmental impact on the natural world, the human condition, popular imagery, and fairytales. His art is in constant progress, allowing him to build and discover different layers of meaning and new developments. Each work Jonathan creates leads him towards a different direction but always concerned with the same themes.  His art is a conversation through visual poetics allowing duality, language play, and the accumulation of his developing iconography.  Send in the Clowns.
