Hand, Eye, & Heart
Organized by Eve Kruger
Exchange Prompt:
Dear selected printmakers,
“Rembrandt put more in the face than anyone else ever has, before or since, because he saw more. And that was not a matter of using a camera. That was to do with his heart... You need three things for paintings: the hand, the eye, and the heart. I think that remark is very, very good. Two won’t do. A good eye and heart are not enough, neither is a good hand and eye.” ~ David Hockney
Using the words of David Hockney, we can look at our eye and hand, but more importantly our heart to find our passion for art. This print exchange challenges us as printmakers to examine what motivates us to create and asks you to make a piece reflecting the source of your passion. Whether that be to better understand yourself or to interact with others, the purpose of this exchange is to value your heart alongside your hand and eye.
All prints in this exchange are 8” x 12” and use a variety of printmaking methods.
